In general terms, liposculpture costs in Colombia are between:
- 5,000,000 a 7,000,000 COP para procedimientos más sencillos o en clínicas de ciudades intermedias. Este rango puede cubrir una liposucción en áreas pequeñas o limitadas.
- 8,000,000 a 12,000,000 COP es el rango más común en ciudades como Bogotá, Medellín y Cali, donde la demanda es alta y las clínicas suelen ofrecer servicios avanzados. Este precio usualmente incluye la cirugía, el uso de tecnología de punta como la liposucción asistida por láser, y algunos cuidados postoperatorios.
- 13,000,000 a 20,000,000 COP para procedimientos más complejos o integrados con otros tratamientos, como lipoinyecciones en glúteos o tratamientos para definir la musculatura abdominal.
Factores que afectan el precio
- Ubicación de la clínica: Las clínicas en ciudades más grandes y de alta demanda, como Bogotá o Medellín, tienden a tener precios más altos debido a la infraestructura avanzada y la experiencia de los cirujanos.
- Experiencia del cirujano: Los cirujanos plásticos con una trayectoria sólida y certificaciones de asociaciones como la Sociedad Colombiana de Cirugía Plástica Estética y Reconstructiva (SCCP) pueden cobrar más por sus servicios debido a la calidad y seguridad que ofrecen.
- Áreas a tratar: El número y tamaño de las áreas tratadas influye directamente en el costo. Una intervención limitada a zonas pequeñas será menos costosa que una lipoescultura extensa que incluya abdomen, muslos, y espalda, por ejemplo.
- Tecnología utilizada: La lipoescultura puede ser realizada mediante técnicas avanzadas como la lipólisis láser o la liposucción asistida por ultrasonido, lo que incrementa el costo debido a la precisión y efectividad de estos métodos.
- Cuidado postoperatorio: Algunos paquetes incluyen prendas de compresión, drenajes linfáticos, y consultas de seguimiento, lo cual puede aumentar el costo inicial pero asegurar mejores resultados y una recuperación más rápida.

What is included in the price of liposculpture in Colombia?
The prices indicated above cover the entire operative procedure: fees of the intervening specialists, surgical instruments, hospital expenses, and in some cases, an insurance policy is included to cover any emergency that may arise during the surgery. Generally, the policy is included if the patient is prone to react negatively (if he/she is diabetic or hypertensive, for example).
In this sense, the total package does not cover consultations and previous exams. The consultation with the specialist surgeon has a cost of 100,000 to 200,000 pesos and you will have to see the relevant sessions before and after surgery. As for the exams, these usually cost about 200,000 pesos, but the cost may be higher if the patient suffers from any cardiovascular disease.
The liposculpture is an aesthetic intervention that, after being performed, needs molding and reducing massages to accelerate the recovery. These sessions can be acquired per package of 10 massages, which have a value of 500.000 to 1 million pesos.
What increases the price of liposculpture in Colombia?
It must be taken into account that the prices of liposculpture vary from one patient to another, according to what the patient wants and needs. Therefore, the price of this aesthetic procedure can increase according to different factors.
In this case, the increase of the liposculpture is not reflected in the operation, but in the whole pre and postoperative process, because in a value not included in the medical package. After undergoing this surgery, the patient must use a girdle that has a cost of 120.000 to 200.000 pesos, but it is advisable to have 2 since they are of daily use.
In total, all pre- and post-operative expenses represent an additional 2 million pesos to the surgery package, taking into account consultations, examinations, healing creams and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Does an EPS cover liposculpture?
Liposculpture is a purely aesthetic procedure, so no EPS covers it economically. In this case, you could find a clinic or esthetic center that has an agreement with an EPS to offer discounts in the necessary exams.
