Rhinoplasty for men

Everything you need to know about rhinoplasty in men

With rhinoplasty, men can make their nose, cheeks, chin, eyes and other facial features look more masculine. Rhinoplasty has been shown to help men improve facial symmetry, resize and/or reshape the nose, minimize nasal bridge defects and eliminate a bulging nasal tip.

Rhinoplasty for men is a complex procedure and should be performed by an experienced facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. In this way, men can receive full support during the nose job and be confident that they will achieve the desired results from the treatment.

Dr. Guevara discusses rhinoplasty for men in depth. He will meet with the patient, discuss rhinoplasty options and answer any concerns or questions. In this way, men are well positioned to make an informed decision about rhinoplasty after the initial consultation.

How can rhinoplasty masculinize the nose?

Rhinoplasty for men takes into account the unique characteristics of the male face. It is a facial plastic surgery that helps the patient to masculinize the nose and improve the appearance of the face.

Men’s noses usually have a prominent, straight nasal bridge and a nasal tip that protrudes at a 90-degree angle between the nose and upper lip. In contrast, women’s noses usually have a smooth nasal bridge and a blunt angle to the upper lip.

In many cases, the male nose also has a higher nasal bridge and is wider than the female nose. Men’s noses also tend to have a more protruding tip than women’s noses.

Nose correction surgery for men is tailored to a man’s facial features. This ensures that the patient can obtain an aesthetically pleasing nose that contributes to a masculine appearance.

To help the male rhinoplasty patient achieve a more masculine nose, Dr. Guevara performs an in-depth consultation. He then evaluates the condition of the patient’s nose and ascertains his rhinoplasty goals. He then develops a rhinoplasty treatment plan tailored to the patient’s needs.

How is rhinoplasty for men different from rhinoplasty for women?

Although rhinoplasty in men and women is similar, the aesthetic goals of these rhinoplasty procedures are different. Men often undergo rhinoplasty to straighten the nasal bridge and increase the width to the middle of the nose. In comparison, women often undergo rhinoplasty to correct a nose that is too wide or to give the impression of a droopy tip.

Dr. Guevara performs both male and female rhinoplasties. He tailors the nose job to his patient and ensures that the nose job helps the patient achieve a balanced, natural-looking face.

Benefits of male rhinoplasty

The benefits of male rhinoplasty are as follows:

  • Improved symmetry of the nose: the patient can achieve a natural-looking nose that matches other facial features.
  • Correction of structural defects of the nose: In many cases, male rhinoplasty corrects structural defects of the nose.
  • Increased self-confidence: Rhinoplasty for men can improve the patient’s facial appearance, resulting in increased self-confidence.
  • Although male rhinoplasty can provide long-term benefits, it is important to keep in mind that it may take several months before the full results of treatment are evident.

Dr. Guevara explains in detail what patients can expect from male nose jobs. He helps the patient develop a rhinoplasty plan and set realistic treatment goals.

Are you a good candidate for male rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty for men is a serious cosmetic surgery and the decision to undergo rhinoplasty should not be taken lightly. Fortunately, Dr. Guevara will examine the patient to determine if he is a good candidate for rhinoplasty.

During the consultation, Dr. Guevara will examine the patient’s facial features. Dr. Guevara may consider a patient a good candidate for male rhinoplasty if he has any of the following facial features:

  • A bridge too high or too low.
  • Short, upturned nasal tip
  • A voluminous nasal tip
  • Dorsal hump (bump on the nose)
  • Nostrils too wide or extended
  • Nose too wide or too narrow.
  • Hanging nose
  • Crooked nose

Dr. Guevara takes the time and resources necessary to explain how male rhinoplasty is performed. In doing so, he educates the patient on all aspects of the procedure.

Rhinoplasty Recovery for Men

Nose surgery can be a difficult time for the patient. After rhinoplasty, men may need to take time off from work, school and other daily activities to focus on the most important thing: recovering from surgery.

In the first few days after nasal surgery, men may experience nasal congestion due to swelling inside the nose. Swelling and bruising around the nose may also occur. However, these symptoms usually disappear on their own within a few days of starting treatment.

Dr. Guevara schedules several appointments with male rhinoplasty patients during the first seven to ten days after surgery. These appointments allow Dr. Guevara to monitor the patient’s recovery. In addition, during the first few weeks after male rhinoplasty, patients are advised to avoid strenuous physical activity.

After follow-up visits in the first few weeks after surgery, Dr. Guevara asks patients to visit him approximately once every three months for the first year after surgery. Because Dr. Guevara wants his patients to achieve an ideal nose shape, men may visit him periodically to make sure their recovery is on track.

It can take up to two years for the patient to see the full results of male rhinoplasty. Once fully visible, the results last for several years after treatment. However, over time the appearance of the patient’s face may change due to the natural aging process, which may affect the long-term results of the surgery.
