Neither too large nor too small
Size is an important consideration if you want the results of breast implants to look natural. Make it too small and you will be disappointed with the results. Get implants that are too large and you will look out of proportion and fake. The correct size of implants can vary substantially, depending on your anatomy. The width of your chest, the amount of breast tissue you already have, and your goals for surgery all play a role in determining the maximum implant size.

Saline vs. silicone
Saline and silicone implants are excellent options for breast augmentation. Many women can achieve natural-looking results with either. However, some women will benefit from silicone implants. Silicone implants look and feel more like natural breast tissue, even outside the breast. If you desire large implants or if you have little natural breast tissue, we may recommend silicone implants.
Position of the implant – above or below the muscle?
Implants can be placed above or below the pectoralis muscle. Placements above the muscles offer a shorter recovery, but below the muscle placement may look more natural in some patients. We will work with you to determine the best position for your implants.
Place implants in sagging breasts and your breasts will be larger and still sagging. If you have moderate to severe breast ptosis, you may need a breast lift with breast augmentation. This will reposition the breast tissues, allowing for a more natural and youthful appearance once the implants are in place. For minor sagging, we may use a periareolar incision to remove excess skin.
Incisions and scars
Many women are concerned about incisions and scars on their breasts. Most of the time, the scars are minimal and with carefully placed incisions, they will not be noticeable, even with no clothes on. We typically use inframammary incisions (the incision is hidden in the breast crease under the breast) or periareolar incisions (the incision is made around the areola and hidden in the transition). We will recommend the best option for you during your consultation, but once you are healed, visible scarring should not be a concern.
